The Route: NJP/Siliguri → Sevoke → Odlabari → Damdim → Gorubathan → Lava.
Key Stopovers:
Sevoke Coronation Bridge: A historic architectural marvel over the Teesta River, perfect for a quick photo stop.
Gorubathan: Often called the gateway to the Neora Valley, this spot is ideal for stretching your legs, sipping some local tea, and enjoying the lush green landscapes of the Chel River valley and Fagu tea estate.
2. Via Kalimpong (The Alternative Route) If you wish to explore Kalimpong town before heading up to higher altitudes, this route is ideal. It is slightly longer, covering about 115 kilometers, and takes around 4.5 to 5 hours.
The Route: NJP/Siliguri → Sevoke → Teesta Bazaar → Kalimpong → Algarah → Lava.
Road Conditions & Travel Timings The roads are generally well-maintained, though the final ascent toward Lava involves steep, winding mountain terrain.
